Knit on with confidence and hope
through all crises.
For me, knitting is as much about people as it is about fiber and needles. Mama taught me how to knit when I was a child so I knit my way through the angst of adolescence, the pressures of nursing school, the challenges of the Navy, the blessings of home and family, many moves, a career change to graphic design, recovery from illness, and on into old age. (The photo was taken at my 50th nursing school reunion, i.e. old age.).
Through it all, I have connected with other knitters for some of my most enriching experiences and friendships. I’ve especially enjoyed teaching classes, and going to knitting camps and retreats.
